When to use a biodata vs a resume
A biodata is the right format for marriage proposals and most Indian government job applications. It includes personal details (date of birth, religion, marital status) that a private-sector resume should never include.
If you're applying to a private company in India — fintech, SaaS, services, manufacturing — use a one-page resume, not a biodata. The two formats are not interchangeable, and using the wrong one signals you don't understand the context.
What goes in a biodata
