Keep: contact info, summary (2-3 lines), experience with quantified bullets, education with dates and grades, technical skills, certifications, optional projects/awards.
Drop: photo (private sector), date of birth, marital status, religion, father's name, full address, references on request, declaration. These belong on a biodata, not a resume.
Quantification — the single biggest lever
Replace "led a team" with "led a 7-person team to launch X, lifting Y by Z%". Numbers anchor reader attention and survive the 6-second scan. Quantify in three ways: scale (team size, user count, revenue handled), impact (% lift, time saved, ₹ saved), and time (within X months/quarters).
If you genuinely don't have numbers — fresher with college projects only — quantify project scope: 'shipped a 4-week capstone with 3 teammates, used by 200 fellow students.' Real numbers, modest scale, still concrete.
ATS-friendly formatting (non-negotiable)
Single-column layout. No tables, text boxes, or icons. Standard fonts (Arial, Calibri, Times New Roman). PDF format. No headers/footers (some ATS skip them entirely). Standard section names ('Experience', 'Education', 'Skills') — fancy synonyms confuse parsers.
Don't put critical info in images, charts, or graphics. ATS skip them. Save the visual flair for portfolio links.
